// Nautilus pompilius – aka Nautilus are often referred to as living fossils. First species go back to the end of the Cretaceous period around 60 million years ago. Today they are mainly endangered by the collection of their pearlescent shell. Their symbolic power also makes them very popular in literature. Jules Verne called Captain Nemo‘s submarine „Nautilus“. The golden color pigments make the iconic motif shimmer particularly mysteriously. Pink and orange also develop their radiance under UV light.
